When is this code of practice required?

You will need to comply with this standard if you are an employer at a mine which uses lasers.

You must ensure that any laser products used in construction work at your mine are used in accordance with this standard. The version of the standard you are required to comply with is AS 2397-1993: Safe use of lasers in the building and construction industry.

The standard sets out safety requirements for the use of lasers for alignment, levelling, control and survey tasks in the building and construction industry.
