When is this licence required?

You will need this approval if you intend to conduct a business from home. It allows certain small volume trades or occupations to be practised in a residential environment while enabling the local council to ensure that minimal disturbance and nuisance are created.

Business activities must take place on land or in a dwelling that you own. You must have written permission from the housing authority in the case of conducting business activities in a housing commission property.
